President's Message

The Rotary Club of Fountain Hills holds a special place in my heart. In March 2011 when I joined the club, it was all about business opportunities. After all, Rotary was a organization built by business leaders back in 1912. I was selling real estate and looking for more business ... what a find!
My original plan changed in short order. After leaning about the real reason for Rotary ... Service ... my heart began to change. I enjoy the service projects and fund raisers supporting the projects but I most enjoy the relationships. My short explanation is "I joined for business but I stay for my friends".
I've had the honor of serving as club president previously. My favorite term was when I Co-Presidented (not sure that's a word but you know what I mean) with Tony Pistilli. It was a time when our club needed us to step up and of course we agreed. That's what Rotarians do!
Recently a regular winter-visiting Rotarian was asked to be our meeting's 'Featured Rotarian' speaker. He made a statement that said it all! "If a Rotarian asks you to do something ... you do it. They wouldn't ask if it weren't important". These are sage words for all Rotarians to remember.
It's an honor to be a Rotarian and an honor to lead our club for 2021-22.
